Impressionism, as an important school of oil painting, originated from a painting by French painter Monet. 1874, in the studio of Paris photographer Nadal, two artists saw a painting by Monet called Impression of Sunrise, which they called "Impression". Since then, "Impressionism" has been used to refer to a group of young painters with innovative spirit at that time. In the same year, these young painters held the first "Impressionist" exhibition.
The representative works of Impressionism include Sunrise Impression by Monet, Lunch on the Grass and Olympia by Manet, Balcony by Renoir, Potato Eater by Van Gogh, On the Beach by Seurat and Sally You Ke at Moulin Rouge by Lautreck.
