Dancing peacocks come from the myths and legends of the Dai people.

Correct.

Before proud as a peacock, there have been classic works such as peacock dance and The Spirit of Sparrows. "peacock dance" mainly lies in the imitation of form, and "sparrow spirit" mainly lies in the dancer's personal understanding of "spirit" and his grasp of the state of life.

The unique feature of Peacock Flying is that it is divorced from the simple morphological simulation, but it is not far away from the world, but creates a familiar and unfamiliar peacock image.

The choreographer grasps the peacock's instantaneous movements, such as turning around, raising his head and flapping his wings, and beautifies, processes and abstracts these movements into charming dances, conveying the meaning of peace and joy through these dynamic languages. The most successful part of this dance lies in the choreographer's handling of dance rhythm.

Due to the warm and humid season and the influence of "water culture" in Dai areas, the dance of Dai women has the characteristics of slow rhythm and gentle movements. In this work, the director broke the usual rhythm type of Dai dance and chose syncopation rhythm in many places.

This rhythm change strengthens the sense of movement rhythm of dance and gives dance more jumping and dynamic strength. And this state of dancing just corresponds to the cheerful meaning that the director wants to convey. In addition, the treatment of rhythm is also reflected in the comparison of dance movement speed.

The first half of the dance is dominated by fast-paced movements of jumping. In the second half of the dance, the music is still 3/4 beat, slightly faster, while the actors' movements are obviously slowed down, similar to slow-motion close-ups. Peacocks walk lightly into Dai villages, and birds in people's hearts become happy and auspicious.
