The origin of the name Daqing

In the early Qing Dynasty, the Daqing area was a hunting land of Duerbot Banner of the Zhelim League, and there have always been settled villages. On September 26, 1959, industrial oil flow erupted from the "Songji San Well" near Gaotaizi in the north of Datong, and the oil field was named after "Daqing".

On May 26, 1960, Anda County was abolished and Anda City (prefecture level) was established. Anda City People's Committee was located in Anda Town and was under the Songhua River Prefecture.

In October 1960, the Songliao Petroleum Battle Command moved to Sartu.

On June 23, 1964, Anda City was abolished, Anda County was restored, and Anda Special Zone was established, which was still called Anda City to the outside world.

On December 14, 1979, Anda City was renamed Daqing City and was directly under the jurisdiction of Heilongjiang Province.

Geographic location

Daqing City is located in the west of Heilongjiang Province, in the north of the central depression area of ??the Songliao Basin. The geographical location of the urban area is between 45°46' and 46°55' north latitude, and 124°19' and 125°12' east longitude. It is connected to Suihua District in the east, faces Jilin Province across the river (Songhua River) in the south, and faces Jilin Province in the west and north. It borders Qiqihar City.

The Binzhou Railway passes through the city center and is 159 kilometers away from Harbin City in the southeast and 139 kilometers away from Qiqihar City in the northwest.
