Analysis of the situations in which one's works are named after Zhaishi, there are generally three types:
The first is to directly name his works as his study. In his later years, Lu You, the great poet of the Song Dynasty, "taken Shi Kuang's saying that "learning when you are old is like walking at night holding a candle"" and named his study "Laoxue'an", so his collection of essays was named "Notes on Laoxue'an". Yu Yue, a great scholar in the Qing Dynasty, went to Beijing for a re-examination and wrote a poem in his hand. The first two sentences are "The flowers have fallen and the spring is still there, and the sky is still bright and sunny." He won the appreciation of Zeng Guofan, the examiner, and was listed on the gold list. Therefore, he named his book "Chun Zaitang", and his life's work was named "The Complete Works of Chun Zaitang". For example, Hou Fangyu's "Collected Works of Zhuanghui", Zhang Pu's "Complete Collection of Poems of Qilu Zhai", Liang Shiqiu's "Ya She Essays", Shen Yinmo's "Qiu Mingshi Miscellaneous Poems", etc., are all named after Zhai.
Second, the titles of some famous scholars’ works are taken from the names of their residences. Huang Zhongze, a famous poet in the Qing Dynasty, lived in a house that "served both as a study and as a bedroom, hence the name Liangdang" because his family was poor. The room was named "Liangdangxuan", and there is a collection of essays "Liangdangji" handed down to the world. Ye Shengtao's family name is "Weiyanju". In the preface to his short story collection "Weiyanji" in the 1920s, he explained the origin of the title: "Weaning means being tired of being enough. Although he is not sure what he is a novelist. Even great things must be done in a certain way. I write them one by one and read them over and over again, but they often don’t look good enough. I am a person who is tired of the world. After my examination, I don’t seem to want to commit suicide yet. How can I be tired of this life? I think so. I put together several novels for publication and titled them with the word "not tired". "The same is true for the Qing Dynasty scholar Lu Longqi's "Collected Works of Sanyutang" and the modern writer Feng Zikai's "Essays of Yuanyuantang".
The third is some literati who built courtyards and villas because they were officials. In his later years, he lived in a luxurious house, and his works were named after the garden. In his later years, Shen Kuo, a famous politician and scientist in the Northern Song Dynasty, "abandoned his residence in Xunyang and built a house on the border of Jingkou. There were huge trees, and the water came out of the gorge and lingered in the sky. On one side of the surrounding land, you can see the Mengxi River." "This is the origin of his famous book "Mengxi Bi Tan". Huang Zunxian, a poet in the late Qing Dynasty, once built a villa in his hometown. He took Tao Yuanming's poetic idea of ??"building a villa in a human environment without the noise of cars and horses" and named it "Renjing Lu". Later, "Renjing Lu Poetry and Grass" was published. "Danzhou Garden", a famous garden in the south of the Yangtze River, is the private garden of Wang Shizhen, a famous writer in the Ming Dynasty. His collection of essays is named "Four Manuscripts of Yanzhou Mountain Man" and "Female Collection of Yanzhou Hall". Yuan Mei, a poet of the Qing Dynasty, built "Suiyuan" at the foot of Qingliang Mountain in Nanjing, so his works include "Suiyuan Poems" and so on.
He gave his work the "famous name of Zhaishi", which became popular and has not faded to this day. For example, contemporary poet Su Yuanlei's "Boshui Zhai Collection", famous Taiwanese writer Peng Ge's "Shuangyuelou Storytelling", Dai Yiru's "Qi Suo Zhai Laughing Forest", etc.
