Why are there so many people with "maru" in their names in Japanese?

In ancient Japan, boys were named with "Maru", hoping that their children would grow up strong and brave. The name of the ship was also given to pray for the ship to sail strongly in the wind and waves, and later it became a convention.

Almost no one in modern Japan will have such a name, because it seems too old-fashioned and outdated, and it will be laughed at by other children, alas, pitiful.
