A sad and euphemistic emotional story between two women in late Qing Dynasty and contemporary China. In modern stories, Sophie and Nina are very good friends. By chance, Sophie heard a story from her aunt. A long time ago, a girl of the same age in Jiangyong (formerly known as Yongming), a remote area of Hunan Province, wrote a mysterious text, which was circulated among local women and exchanged ideas with each other. Sophie and Nina became close friends under the organization of menstruation, and vowed to be the most loyal, faithful and inseparable partners in each other's life.
It dates back to Jiangyong, a small county town in Hunan Province in the middle of19th century. There are two beautiful little girls, Lily and Snowflake. When they were young, they became bosom friends and told each other their true feelings with female scripts. As they grew older, they got married and had children. Lily married a rich man, but Snowflake married a village butcher because of her poor family. Due to different circumstances, their friendship has been alienated, no longer pure friendship when they were young, and they don't talk to each other. The misunderstanding was finally resolved before Snowflake died. The deep friendship between the two people made Lily finally realize the true feelings between each other and the true meaning of female calligraphy.
