Can angle steel be used as reinforcement when pouring concrete beams?

When pouring concrete beams, angle steel cannot be used as reinforcement.

Because the compressive strength of angle steel is not high, it is hard and easy to break, has no plasticity and cannot be bent. On the other hand, steel bars are plastic, strong, not easy to break and have high tensile pressure.

Angle steel, commonly known as angle iron, is a long strip steel with two perpendicular sides. There are equilateral angle steel and unequal angle steel. Angle steel can be composed of various stressed components according to the different needs of the structure, and can also be used as connectors between components. It is widely used in various building structures and engineering structures, such as beams, bridges, transmission towers, lifting and transportation machinery, ships, industrial furnaces, reaction towers, container racks, warehouses and so on.

Rebar refers to the steel used in reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete, and its cross section is round, sometimes square with rounded corners. Include round steel, ribbed steel bar and torsion steel bar. Steel bars are widely used in various building structures. Especially for large, heavy and light thin-walled and high-rise building structures.
