Lan Ming Dynasty writer is the pseudonym of the author of Zhang Hui's novel Jin Ping Mei. Lanling is an ancient place name, which is divided into North Lanling (in Shandong) and South Lanling (in Jiangsu). Shandong dialect is widely used in the book. The author may be from Shandong, or he is familiar with the environment in Shandong.
Textual research statement
At present, it is still too early to determine the exact identity of the author. But now most scholars think that from the content of Jin Ping Mei itself, the street characters are the best, while the upper class people describe the veneer, and most of the poems written by the author are not standardized. The author is probably a low-class scholar who was born in poverty, not a "big celebrity" as Shen Defu said.
I. Five Theories
The true identity of Xiao Xiaosheng in Lanling is still controversial. Up to now, more than 60 candidate theories have been put forward, among which Huang Lin's "Tu Long Theory", Bu Jian's "Li Kaixian Theory", Lu Ge's and Ma Su's "Wang Maodeng Theory", Xu Jianping's and Huo Xianjun's "Wang Shizhen Theory" and Pan Chengyu's "Xu Wei Theory" are more credible, which are collectively called the five major theories.
Second, Wang Shizhen said.
Because "Lan Shaosheng" is only a pseudonym and pseudonym, no other direct evidence has been found to prove who this person is. Shen Ming Telford's "Wan Li Ye Bian" is said to have been written by a famous person in Jiajing period. What I used to talk about most was Wang Shizhen. Scholars such as Gu Gongxie, Li Ciming and Liang Zhangju in Qing Dynasty also thought that the author of Jin Ping Mei should be Wang Shizhen.
Lu Xun disagreed. In the preface to the Japanese translation of A Brief History of Chinese Novels, he pointed out: "Jin Ping Mei Hua Ci was published in Beiping, and it is the originator of the same book. Although the article is rougher than it is now, the dialogue is written in Shandong dialect, which definitely proves that this book was never written by Wang Shizhen, a native of Jiangsu. " Wu Han also thinks that the author can't be Wang Shizhen.
According to legend, during Wang Shizhen's tenure as the deputy envoy of Shandong Chengxuan Bureau, his father Wang You was unjustly killed by Yan Shifan, the son of Yan Song, because he refused to hand over the collection of the Riverside Map at Qingming Festival, and he loved reading strange books. Wang Shizhen wrote Jin Ping Mei, which contained many obscene contents. The reader couldn't put it down, dipped it in the arsenic in the corner of the book and sold it to Yan Shifan. Yan Shifan likes reading this book.
This rumor is unreliable, and Lu Xun thinks it is too far-fetched: "The idea of future generations, putting bitterness and filial piety first, is nothing more than reducing the means of attack in society, and there is no evidence from Wang Shizhen."
Xu Jianping's Textual Research on Jin Xue and Huo Xianjun's Jin Ping Mei Lue were once again recognized as Wang Shizhen's works, and Xu Jianping thought that Wang Shizhen should be the new breakthrough and starting point for the study of Jin Ping Mei in the 2 1 century.
Third, the dragon slayer said
Huang Lin initiated it. He believes that "Tu Long traveled from Ningbo to Beijing all his life, knowing the inside story of business and the local customs of the market, and from the life of Beijing officials to the life of beggars, he has a thorough understanding of life and people's hearts, so he can write such a novel."
Huang Lin and Wan Wei Tze also pointed out that the fifty-sixth poem of Jin Ping Mei, the poem of Mourning the Headscarf and the article of Offering the Headscarf all came from an open book with a smile. Tujia people first moved to Ningbo from Changzhou, which was also called Lanling at that time. In "Open the Book with a Smile", I learned that the girl who smiles in Lanling is Mr. Xiaoxiao. Zheng Run also agreed with this statement, and verified that Xinzi Xin in Preface was the grandson of Tu Benjun.
Fourth, Li Kaixian said
A footnote in The History of China Literature (version 1962) by the Institute of Literature, China Academy of Social Sciences is not completely certain. The footnote was added by Wu Xiaoling, who is also a supporter of Li Kaixian's statement. Shuofang Xu also claimed that Li Kaixian was the author of Jin Ping Mei. Japanese sinologist Cui supported this theory and put forward four new viewpoints. Bu Jian discovered Li's genealogy in Nanjing, and wrote a book "An Examination of Li Kaixian, Author of Jin Ping Mei", which made great achievements.
V. Wang Maodeng said
Lu Ge and Ma Zhi put forward this statement for the first time and presented twelve pieces of evidence.
Sixth, Xu Wei said
In the Ming Dynasty, Yuan Zhongdao's "The Persimmon Story in the Wandering House" was first put forward, and the English translator arthur waley mentioned it in the introduction of the English version of Jin Ping Mei, and Pan Chengyu made a comprehensive argument about it.

Character experience
Jin Ping Mei, the "first wonderful book", was written in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. It is famous for banned books and fantasy books. Jin Ping Mei has unique literary value and artistic achievements. From 65438 to 0932, Beiping Library obtained Amin's edition of Jin Ping Mei Hua Thorn from Jiexiu, Shanxi Province (therefore, the academic community also referred to it as Jiexiu's edition of Jin Ping Mei, which is now in the National Palace Museum in Taipei).
This edition was published in A.D. 16 17. It is the earliest carved edition found so far, and its content is closer to the original work. Before engraving, there is a preface signed by Xinzi Xin. The first sentence says "A Biography of Jin Ping Mei by Lan Shaosheng", which means that the author of the book is "Lan Shaosheng". "Lanling" is the county hope, and "Xiaoxiaosheng" is the author.
Therefore, the last sentence of the preface is "I often say: Xiao Xiaosheng is like a biography, and it is called." This provides a new clue for people to study the author of Jin Ping Mei. Lanling Town, Lanling County, Shandong Province and Wujin County, Jiangsu Province were called "Lanling" in ancient times, but judging from the extensive use of Shandong dialect in the book, the author should be from Shandong, not Wujin County, Jiangsu Province.
