The Bazi Mountain was called Wang Si in ancient times, and it was recorded in the local chronicles of Nanjing: "Wu Dadi and the immortal Ge Yuan (Xuan) tasted it together, and the mountain was completely disappeared, hence the name." 1929, in order to welcome Dr. Sun Yat-sen's coffin to pass by Zhongshan North Road, the national government at that time built eight characters of "loyalty and filial piety, benevolence, faithfulness and harmony" halfway up the mountain, and renamed the mountain "Eight-character Mountain" from then on. At the beginning of liberation, the government changed the Chinese characters into eight traditional characters: "Develop production and prosper the economy". During the "Cultural Revolution", the eight characters were changed to "unity, tension, seriousness and liveliness".
In 2004, Bazishan Park was completed, including 9 scenic spots, including Xiangshan Square Scenic Spot, Panshanxi Scenic Spot, Painting and Calligraphy Institute Scenic Spot, Siwangge Scenic Spot and Mountain Ecological Park. Among them, Siwangge Scenic Area is the core part of the scenic spots in the park, located at the main peak of Bazi Mountain. There is a two-story balcony building in the area that imitates the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the cornices are upturned, echoing the Yuejiang Tower from a distance. Boarding it, visitors can overlook Yuejiang Tower, Hydrangea Park, Xiaotaoyuan and Yimeng, which is a veritable urban forest.
